Being there was such a dream!! Here are all the things I did while in Kauai! Warning, this post is very long!
The catamaran tour! This was an amazing 5-hour boat ride, with an hour of snorkeling! During this boat tour, we got to see the breathtaking Napoli Coast, Dolphins, and Sea Turtles! This was a lot of fun, and my number one MUST DO!
Glass Beach- this is just to the side of Port Allen, so a perfect stop to make right after the catamaran tour! This is a small beach area, but so fascinating and of course every beach view is the perfect view!
Hiking the Kalalau Trail: This hike contained so much beauty! It is on the North Shore of Kauai so about an hour drive from where we were staying… yes just an HOUR drive from south to north shore! The views were amazing and the trail at 2 miles led to a beach only accessible by this trail, on this beach, there was a cave! It was pretty awesome, but the hike back about killed me! The trail itself is 11 miles long and has waterfalls and amazing views along the way!
BIRTHDAY!!!! I did an entire post on my 21st birthday but thought I would share some pictures on this post as well! My birthday was awesome, we spent the day being beach bums and snorkeling! I also ordered my first beverage! We saw a bunch of sea life so go check out my post!
Kayaking & Hike: We took a 5 hour trip to a waterfall! This trip contained kayaking down the Wailua River to a mile hike to a beautiful waterfall, this is known as the Secret Waterfall! This was the first waterfall I have ever seen in person and we swam in the pool beneath the waterfall, it was amazing! but VERY cold! After swimming beneath the waterfall we had lunch, and then the guide took us back up the river and to a spot where we could cliff dive, me, of course, having the fear of breaking my bones just watched! The rest of the fam had a great time jumping off the cliff! This besides my birthday was my favorite day!
Spouting Horn: This is a quick activity to do and a free one! You drive right on up, park and you’re there! Of course, the view is great and the spouting horn is a must see! There are also vendors to walk around and shop at while you are there!
and of course, GOLF! My boyfriend LOVES to golf, so we played 3 different courses. Poipu Bay was the nicest course with ocean and mountain views, Josh played this was by himself and I was his cart girl. This course is super nice, and is the course that held the PGA Grand Slam! We together played the Kiahuna which is also a nice course, we only got to play 9 holes because the carts had to be returned before sunset! The last place we played was like a dive place, it was a 9 hole course and everything was paid in cash. Josh explained it like we played at a park that had greens, there wasn’t anything nice about this course besides how cheap it is. They advertise that it’s $9, but it’s more than that if you want a cart and there are also green fees. But this was fun because Josh and I just got to have fun and laugh at me swing and miss 10 times in a row.
Koke’e State Park: We made this drive our last night in Kauai, we had 45 minutes to drive all the way here before sunset. Josh’s brother wanted to do this all week long, and we finally picked a night! This is honestly the BEST place to watch the sunset, yes it is a hike to get up there, even by car, but it is worth it! You could make an afternoon out of it because you drive through Waimea Canyon to get to Koke’e. So you could stop and look at all the beautiful views the canyon has to offer, Koke’e looks out the opposite way the Canyon Lookout. Once we got there, we were minutes away from sunset and clouds were moving in quickly, it was FREEZING up there! We snapped a few pictures and ran back to the car just in time before the rain.
